Your Thin Place… New link up starting in January

Your Thin Place
Wednesdays
at Enough Faith for Today

What are thin places?

They are places where the eternal world and our physical world meet and mingle.  A place where our Heavenly Father calls out to you, to let you know he is here. A place where the veil between heaven and earth is so thin, you can feel the presence of God.

Where has that been for you… Today? This week?

Starting in January I will be starting my first Link ~ Up. Here you can tell us how God has come to you this week. Sometimes these can be spiritual moments. But sometimes God has funny ways of showing himself too!

If you would be interested in Guest Posting let me know.  I can’t wait to see how He is working in your life today!

Prayer Request

I have been missing my blog. Checking up on my friends and seeing what is happening in your worlds. I’ve been disconnected. I feel disconnected.

Right now things are hectic. My dad started radiation this week and is on his way as I type this for a tracheostomy. A cancerous tumor is closing in his windpipe, making it impossible to breathe. My heart breaks for him.

On top of that I came down with a nasty cold so the kids and I have not gotten to spend any time with him. He will be starting chemo soon and can’t afford to get sick. Many of you have been so diligent to pray for him and email me to see how he is doing. Thank you… He needs prayer so please continue to lift him. I wrote a quick post on his situation here.

I have lots to type, but right now getting the words out seems to be too much work.

Thanks for your continued support.

Can Anybody Hear Me?

Sometimes you just wonder…

Does He really hear me?

Our family has been hit with some MAJOR trials in the last 2 years. I have personally been tested in so many ways. I feel like the waters got rocky and I lost my ANCHOR.

He has been speaking to me. In little bits. Just enough to get me through to the next day. My MANNA.

Tonight he gives me this...

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

Zechariah 13:9 “. . . They will call on My name, And I will answer them; I will say . . . They are My people, And they will say . . . The LORD is my God.”

When things get choppy

Have I mentioned my OBSESSION with Pinterest? While perusing my boards this morning I saw this familiar post...

That is powerful. What does the devil say when I wake up? I am sad to say I think it is more like…

"Here comes my muse."

Recently, I have been feeling more and more like I am working For him and not AGAINST him. Between no sleep, surgery, the holidays , and remodeling and redecorating, my PATIENCE has been worn thin. My voice has been raised, I have used words I care not to repeat. I have allowed my circumstances to determine my mood.

Reading my "Raising Homemakers" (click to read) email this morning I was reminded,

"Little ones especially need to know that how they are loved will not change even if they are out of hand or circumstances get a bit choppy."

I LOVE MY CHILDREN. When they hurt, I hurt. And when I am doing the hurting a hole is made in my soul. Father, please give me the peace that comes only from you. Help these imperfect moments become a chance to teach them your WORD. Save me (and my kids) from my sin.

 AMEN

It passes by

It passes before I even have a chance to grab hold.

Those moments in time that could have been used as lessons, could have been used to teach, to mold my children into the God fearing adults I yearn for them to be.

Instead, those moments pass. No longer are they teaching tools, now they are memories. Just another time that I let an "opportunity" pass by.

It never fails. I don't know the right verse to apply to the behavior. I don't even really know what behavior I am trying to correct... What commandment I want them to keep... What sin I want them to understand and acknowledge.

It's times like these when I realize how immature I still am in my relationship with Christ. How much growing I have yet to do. I realize how far I am from Him.

Precious Father, It is you who has all the answers. Please help me to lean on you for understanding. Help me to come to you for wisdom and guidance. AMEN

Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

A dozen eggs

There is a lesson in everything... one of my biggest regrets is allowing those moments to pass without using them to their fullest potential.

So this morning, the kids wanted to make eggs... Which always turns out to be a mess, and honestly, I didn't want to do.

But the WHINING got the best of me and I allowed them to crack their own eggs...

And this became a lesson of GRACE...

Mom didn't huff and puff at the mess... Instead we laughed and cleaned it up... BOY, that was EASY!

THE TRINITY

I am sure you have all heard the EGG explanation of the TRINITY. Although comparing the amazing power of the Holy Spirit to an egg yolk could be considered almost~blasphemous... but I was so glad that He reminded me of this little lesson at this time. I don't know that they retained (or understood) most of what I told them... But I think God was GIVING ME this moment.

Reminding me that I am a good mom... I am doing a good job...  And My Father approves.
