.If you could choose any mentor, who would it be?  corrie ten boom. her faithfulness to god and his word are an amazing testimony! her life had so many terrible challenges, dangers and losses. she stood steady with jesus.
.What chore do you absolutely hate doing? ironing. because i am absolutely horrible at ironing:) also mopping, which is super simple, yet, it annoys me.
.What is a typical day for you? pry myself out of bed, unless my toddler does it for me, fix coffee, serve kiddo breakfast, pack hubby's lunch, and drink coffee. if it is a nice day(those will end soon here in north dakota!) we head to the town square playground in the morning. we live downtown, so it's like our backyard playset. we lunch, then fail at naps. out come the crayons, play-doh, glue dots and paper... elijah loves to be artsy:) sometimes we bake. ok, all times we bake. we read a lot. we often head out in the afternoon for a walk to a bigger park to run and play until dinner. we dine, get bathed, bedtime routine. elijah loves 'jesus loves me' and the winnie the pooh song best. and about a hundred books must be read. my husband works longs hours, so i clean/blog/tweet/email/read/drink coffee/do nails while i wait for his return.  if it is a crummy day outside, or too cold, we craft indoors, bake more:), watch movies and dance to music. although i am fairly ocd and love a good plan, we are pretty free spirits around here. whichever way the wind blows us, that's what we do!
.If you knew Jesus was coming tomorrow, what would be different? i'd love to say nothing would be different, because he may come tomorrow! i am ready to meet him! i pray that i will use my time and talents wisely and joyfully to reach lost for his kingdom and encourage his saints for his glory. most days i need major attitude and perspective adjustments.
.What is your wardrobe must have? blue jeans. yep. so sue me. preferably dark wash, curvy 1969, from the gap.
.If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? speak another language fluently. spanish and american sign language would be what i would tackle first.
.Why did you start blogging? in the very beginning, six years ago, it was a journal for myself and to keep in touch with out of towners. these last couple of years it has remained a journal and also become a means of communicating the gospel, sharing stories, encouraging others and meeting new friends! i blog for myself, obviously for jesus, but i don't blog for followers, stats or anything. i just LOVE it. to the moon.
.If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to? as a girl i was insanely obsessed with loved 'the babysitters club' books. anastasia, or stacey, was my idol. i even lied sometimes meeting new people and told them i was 'stacey'. today, i would maybe change it to 'claire'. i've always loved that name!
.What is ALWAYS in your fridge or pantry? lacroix sparkling water (grapefruit or lime flavored)
.What is your favorite quote? 'get busy livin', or get busy dyin' from shawshank redemption. also 'the great thing about getting older is that you don't lose all the other ages you've been' madeleine l’engle. Favorite bible verse? goodness, i have so many that i hold especially close! here is one passage: habakkuk 3:17-19
"Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places."
.If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? repent for playing the lottery. HA. adopt more babies! also, i would par-tay. first by sending treats to kids in orphanges and to ministries like ekisa.org, then a load of 'random acts of kindness' then a trip to scotland and new zealand. also i would never, ever run out of coffee beans. holla.
.What are you hoping to get for Christmas? i haven't thought about it much. i really love finding and wrapping gifts{fave thing ever} and giving so much, it seems to appease my 'gift want' enough! i wouldn't turn down a new pair of boots though, no ma'am.
.It’s a rainy day and you’re all alone… What do you do with your time? dream.come.true. read, i have never read-only seen the movie-'martin chuzzlewitt' by dickens. #nerd. and it is long and lovely and i never find the time! also, i would watch 'anne of green gables' and be happy. then i would watch 'four brothers' and get stoked about sibling love and justice. have i mentioned that i have multiple personality disorder?
.What is your favorite color? green. just about any shade. i love red, aqua, magenta, peacock, grey and mustard, too. heck, rainbows are where it's at. i have all colors of fiestaware dishes because i am just in love with color period!
.Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best? oh, kim, there are dozens of things! truly, the lord has really used some rotten things to mold me and even bring me much joy. i had an awful car accident once. that turned out to be good for me. also, i cannot have children. and you know what? i have begun to see beauty even in this heartache as well. certainly isn't what i had planned, but it is working for my good. god keeps his promises.
.What is your favorite book? 'the giver' by lois lowry i've read it nearly every year since i was about 13. it was the beginning of my learning compassion and the value of life. Movie? ahhh! i love movies. 'anne of green gables', 'shawshank redemption', 'while you were sleeping', 'man on fire'... TV Show? we don't really have tv channels...but we used to love LOST. like, it was my boyfriend. we have the series on dvd and will begin it again soon! i've also loved 'the office' the first few seasons of that show were ace.
.What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? what did i not do. the least incriminating thing i can think of: i was a brand new driver, maybe 15. my brother and i were leaving a friend's house, i wasn't paying attention and didn't realize my brother wasn't completely in the car. i put the car in reverse and punched the gas. my brother shouted at me to stop! from his shrieking i thought i'd torn his leg off. it was the door. the door had been caught in the yard, as i'd punched backwards, i folded the car door nearly up onto the hood of the car. my dad's car. i'm sure you can figure out the end of that story.
.When is your birthday? december 17 {my husband and son also have december birthdays!}
.What’s the best gift you’ve ever received? besides my salvation{obviously!}, the gift of my son through adoption is pretty high on the best gift list;) Worst? years ago at a work christmas party i received a small toilet. it was a coin bank. that flushed the coins. the party was not a gag gift party.
.What story does your family always tell about you? nobody is brave enough to tell any stories about me. kidding. sort of. i often talk in my sleep. when i was little, my mama walked past my bedroom and i sat up and said, 'dance with me! dance with me!', so my mama danced with me a minute, told me goodnight and i laid back down.
